Senpai is a Otokonoko Manga Review

Senpai is a Otokonoko Manga Review

With the manga getting an adaption this year I wanted to read the series and see how it is and then share with you my own take along side the facts of the story!
I was seeing all kinds of commentary early on and shockingly enough its only gotten to be more spun and opiniony imo. So for those that haven’t read it and are looking forward to seeing the anime come out I wanted to give a review that’s spin-less and not trying peg the mc as something he’s not.

So here’s your spoiler warning

Alright so its basically your standard love triangle, However the mc at the tip has a tip….

Both a girl and a boy like the mc which is a crossdressing boy.
Homies not particularly gay nor is he trans. He also never at any point suggests either thing through the story.
MC says several times throughout the series he just likes cute things.
[One could say he’s a femboy. By definition, us femboys just like cute things and some times going out looking the part but not really often, but cute things like plushies and stuff… idk that’s just circumstantial speculation though.*]

So, girl falls for (not girl), guy falls for guy, guy loses in the end (sucks to suck f XD)..
For the better part of the series, the MC only cross-dresses at school after an incident with his mother. Quite fortunately the author provided a good story as to why she had the issue she did with mc’s crossdressing. I appreciated that possible parental point of view. I like conversation and seeing things from the other sides POV so I thought it was really nice. Quite fortunately they do work through it and she warms up to it towards the end so that’s a win!

By the near end of the story, the girl and mc  end up going out with each other, however she moves and its unclear as to if the go long distance or anything.
As for the guy, it’s kinda unrealistic that the guy who likes the mc still hangs around after getting shot down (personal experience)… but I mean it’s still just a story at the end of the day.

Anyways I think Senpai is an Otokonoko is a pretty good story about about a femboy* coming to terms with himself, his mother and his friends. It’s most certainly worth reading cause I do worry the adaption may try to spin some stuff but I encourage you to read it!
The anime is set to drop in July for the summer season. Its not clear if the anime will cover the full manga series yet, Id find it hard to put such a dense story line into 12eps so I hope we can get a double feature with 24-26 eps.

The Hentai Traps Of YesterYear

The Hentai Traps Of YesterYear

While engaging with my customers and friends I’ve found a lot of people are remarkably unfamiliar with any of the trap hentais that have been made.
I haven’t figured out why, other than maybe it was just before thier time or just never bothered to go looking for cute anime boys railing each other…
But getting to it, femboys have been around quite a while.
It was just such a small sub genre few knew of it.
In Japan the Otokonoko genre had it going on in the mid 2000s into the mid 2010s.
While on the manga side the traps are going strong still, sadly it’s still not all
that popularof a production for hentai or anime.
But that just means the classics shouldn’t be forgotten and should be well enjoyed for years to come!

So here’s a short but quality list and reviews with links and embeds.

Shounen Maid Kuro-kun Tenshi no Uta

So I’ll start with one of my first viewings of yaoi hentai…
at the time I didn’t know about femboys or traps or otokonoko…I
barely knew the terms yaoi and yuri lol
But anyways story goes something like this;
dad leaves big debt to son, debt collector “buys” son
to work for him to pay off the debt and ultimately fell for said son.
TBH the story is pretty bland but Kuro is cute so its kind of okay.
I couldn’t embed this one so here’s a link to watch it.

Natsuyasumi

Natsu is kinda my favorite yaoi hentai…
It’s another explorative story that kinda has a bitter sweet end as far as the OVA goes.
But basically boy meets boy, boy doesn’t know the others a boy,
gets a bit of a surprise at the end of the first ep.
The second ep boy 1 gets some so it all okay.
In ep 3 they go at it and boy 1 gets to be the bitch this time.
It’s really a nice story, I just over simplified it.
I also enjoy boy 1 is me colored so subconsciously that’s probably another reason its my favorite.
I’d love to do fan art of these two eventually cause they deserve to live on.
Now there’s also a doujin series of Natsu with some other stories
so here’s a link for you to read through some and enjoy.

Episode 1
Episode 2
Episode 3

Pico x Chico & Pico x Chico x Coco
(Pico ep2 & ep3)

Okay so Bonku No Pico……
That first one was pretty pedobear and has been untill this year at least…
With recent news saying the UN wants to decriminalize pedobears
along side the “grooming” issues of last year into this one..
Idk if it will end up less weird eventually. I’d rather it stay weird though myself. So if you havent seen it, dont.
All that being said.. it really was only the first one that weird.
The second and third episodes actially have nothing to do with the first one short Pico himself.

In Pico 2, Pico somehow, somewhere meets Chico (who I think is way cuter) and they hang out and then let it hang out eventually.
I think its a reasonably* realistic story of two young boys exploring.
Personally I could identify with the story as I once had a friend I was close with and we had explored things ourselves in a similar way.
So I actually recommend Pico X Chico.

Pico x Chico x Coco ep3)

Pico x Chico x Coco (Pico 3)
Is really only weird in the sense there’s a magical element that plays a part.
I won’t go into detail as there’s no way to not spoil it. But it’s pretty damn gay and has plenty of good scenes.
The end with the 3 of them is pure spice!
Also Chico looks adorable in a dress.
Episode 3

Otokonoko Delivery

Now for the most recent femboy type hentai..
OtoDev is kinda different cause it kinda puts a different take on a rather normal doujin theme.
But because boys… Better.
But realistically the story wasn’t really good at all, kinda jumped around a lot, it hit has spice which is definitely the only redeeming quality.
The Animation was definitely not particularly great and the artwork was only decent as well.
The boys are cute, they dress cute, they fuck cute.. they’re just cute.
Not sure what else to say aside from cute boys in lingerie is where its at and if you haven’t gotten any yourself yet..
Well at least your in the right place.
Unfortunately it never got a second ep cause it was only a single doujin.
However you can see more of the artist Nemunemu’s work here.
Sadly this is kinda the last hentai that’s been produced that focused on traps or femboys in a yaoi.
There’s been a few traps since but in a straight setting which is also still fun but that’s for another article.

Episode 1

Well thats pretty much it.. theres a huge collection of doujins for us but not much in the sense of OVAs unfortunetly. I hope Studios, deen or zelot come back with a new one soon though. Its suprising given the massive popualrity and sucsess internationally with Astolfo from FGO & F/AP (heh.. fap. gg) and Felix from Re:Zero that kinda put the trap/femboy thing on a much bigger map than ever before.
But until that happens, you can still enjoys these, as well as all the doujins!
Happy watching and happy reading!

The Femboy Angel of Deutschland

The Femboy Angel of Deutschland

The Femboy Angel of Deutschland

Jacky

Known to his thousands of Instagram followers as @Jacky.fly, has become a prominent figure in the femboy community, but his journey to success hasn’t been easy, and after hearing just a part of it, I knew his story needed to be heard.

I wanted to give you a sense of how Jacky’s youth and how he had grown up shaped his future ;
“As a kid I never really had many friends. I always found myself an outsider” expanding on that he goes on to say, “Having been good in school I didn’t have much in common with the other kids.” However, in contrast to this he did say “I’ve always had a loving family that was supportive and could always count on my little brother.”

We then talked a bit about his recent and current life, “I studied design and fashion at university which eventually led to my career in the theater industry and became a costume tailor.”

Along the way Jacky brought his hobby, work and passion together and started cosplaying himself with the talent he had built up through school and then work. Now with nearly 50,000 followers on Instagram, he’s easily one of the most prominent figures in the femboy community and idolized as such.

I later asked if he had any plans for cosplay competitions and contests; “I would definitely like to take part in a competition and go to cons in other countries” As one would expect he said his focus “will always be on his passion and having fun”

When asked where he sees himself going in the future he told me “I hope one day to have my own fashion boutique and make people happy with my fashion. That is my biggest dream!”

I can definitely relate… though Jacky’s got a bit of an advantage over me… he can design and sew clothing… I don’t have the skillset for that.

Now you might be thinking, it’s because of this, that I’ve written this article. Well I’m both happy and sad to say that is not the case. I had a question for him that I had for a while but didn’t want to ask initially and at some point just forgot until the other day. Here is that long winded question and it’s surprisingly dark answer.
I do warn you here as it is like I said dark.

Back in late 2019 or early 2020 I found your IG when you had first started cosplaying Astolfo. I was like “this cosplayer is so cute holy crap, watch it’s probably a girl” (at the time lots of girls were cosplaying him).
looking through your account, in most pictures you had a pretty sizable rack so to speak… but there were some pictures that didn’t have them… not many at all which added to my confusion. I decided you were cute enough to follow whichever the case… then there was that one post and I thought “BULGE! Finally the perfect Astolfo cosplay!!”
So what was the rack about and why did you eventually just stop using it all together?

“Well.. My youth was unfortunately very cruel and rough… ” on top of his lonely elementary years once in junior high it only got worse.
“I don’t like to look back it… but when I was 13 I was raped and my boyfriend would both physically as well as mentally abuse me”. This went on for some time to the point where started to hate not only himself but his body as well to the degree he tried to kill himself several times. “I’d prefer to consider myself still a virgin cause I can’t let and don’t want that time to count”
While its most certainly a terrible thing to go through I think its important to know you are not alone. I’ve talked to a number of my customers and many have had similar events in their youth. You are not alone and you WILL get through it.

Pushing himself away from all things male, he found himself liking and enjoying women’s clothing and accessories more and more until he finally dressed up and felt like it fit. When he first opened his instagram he’d decided he wanted to transition and completely at that. “I thought I was starting a new life with a new identity. This is why I started as a woman”
All of that said… with the help from his family and therapy sessions that continue to this day “I began to accept myself and love myself more and more” he continues on ” I stopped the hormone therapy and sex change process”

After coming to the conclusion that transitioning wasn’t the answer he wanted to own who was and own the past that made him who he is today. becoming a woman was necessary but being cute was ” I wanted to stay a male, so I went the femboy direction.”

While he’s begun to love himself, not everyone else does. “Unfortunately I’m often insulted and threatened because some say I’m not a man, that I am a woman who only pretends to be a man.” After all the work he’s put into himself to accept himself and everything that’s happened, people still wish very hurtful things. “I often think about quitting cosplay and stuff… But I don’t want others to determine my life.”

And that’s the key. Don’t let the mob or anyone else tell you this or that. Look for your own path and keep looking, till you find the right one for yourself.

There are many (not only in the femboy world), but also those in pre or early transition or are just gay or even the straight people who have had to endure the same things or similar things to you, myself included to a degree, for those young fragile people out there reading this,
what would your message be to them?
“The most important thing is to never lose passion for something that is important to you. Even if people try to get you down or want to hurt you or do hurt you…
You should never give them the satisfaction that they’ve won.”

In conclusion, Jacky’s story is a powerful reminder that even in the face of adversity, we have the strength to overcome our challenges and emerge stronger. It’s natural to struggle and even fight against ourselves at times, but these struggles are what make us truly amazing. Once we’ve conquered our personal demons, we have the ability to share our experiences and help others who may be going through similar struggles. I hope Jacky’s story has inspired you to embrace your own journey and accept yourself for who you are and I’m humbled to have been given the opportunity to share his story with you.
